WHO AM I... REALLY?
Overwhelming emotions, shame,low self-esteem, sexual or emotional abuse, fear and suppressed anger are just a few of the reasons for self-injurious behavior. Those who self-injure often feel they are living behind a mask, that no one knows who they really are. Numbness or a sense of being detached from their surroundings is often experienced.  
We want to encourage you that YOU CAN stop self harm; you can be FREE, there is hope and HIS name is Jesus. Begin looking at yourself the way that Jesus Christ sees you. You are his precious child and he loves you more then you could ever imagine.
When you have Jesus in your life you are never alone HE will be your strength. You will begin to experience true freedom from cutting when you ask Jesus into your heart, and to be the Lord and Savior of your life.

Have a plan  of action...If you get the urge to 
self-injure  STOP...call someone who understands and will not judge you, if you can't think of anyone call   
 Door of Hope 4 Teens 1 888- HOPE-307 someone who cares will walk you through that moment of temptation to self-injure and together we will look for solutions...

Start removing negative thoughts and fill your mind with positive, uplifting,"NEW" truths about yourself
keep a journal, write down how you really feel, this gives you a voice and ability to express yourself. Open the Bible and discover how much God  truly loves you.
Discover the "real" truth about who you are
  • I am delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1)
  • I am more then a conquer in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:28)
  • I am forgiven of all my sins and washed in the blood of the Lamb (Ephesians 1:7)
  • I am a new creation; old things have passed away and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17)
  • I am strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6:10)
  • I am victorious (Revelation 21:7)
  • I am called of God (2 Timothy 1:11)
  • I am loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3)
